MOECO Holds Scholarship Ceremony with Four Thai Universities

February 2, 2026 News

Mitsui Energy Development Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Hidenori Harada; hereinafter "MOECO") held a scholarship award ceremony and a signing ceremony for the renewal of scholarship agreements with four universities in Thailand on January 30, 2026, in Bangkok, under the MOECO Scholarship Program.

To express its gratitude to Thailand, which has supported the company's growth over many years, MOECO launched the scholarship program in 2009 to support outstanding students studying in oil and gas-related fields who require financial assistance, marking the company's 40th anniversary. MOECO has provided scholarships to a total of 141 students. Many of the program's alumni have gone on to play active roles in both public and private organizations within Thailand's energy sector.

Starting in FY2025, five newly selected students were awarded scholarships, bringing the total number of scholarship recipients to 15 across the four participating universities this year.

This initiative aligns with the Social Contribution Activities Policy and Action Plan of MOECO's parent company, Mitsui & Co., Ltd (hereinafter "Mitsui"). As a member of the Mitsui Group, MOECO will continue to contribute to the sustainable development of industry and local communities through both its business activities and social contribution initiatives.
