Demonstration test for the realization of a power generation business using a heat recovery method

Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. ("MOECO", Head Office: Tokyo, President & CEO: Hirotaka Hamamoto) participated in the geothermal business, one of the renewable energy sources, in 2012 and is currently conducting geothermal power generation projects and geothermal resource surveys with the aim of commercializing geothermal power generation mainly in Hokkaido and Tohoku areas.

Now, we are going to conduct a demonstration test for the realization of a power generation business using the heat recovery method as a new initiative by utilizing our know-how and experience.

GreenFire Energy Inc. (*) will be used to advise on the design of ground facilities and conduct heat recovery simulations for this demonstration test.
