Acquisition of interest in Sakakemang Block onshore Indonesia

Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. ("MOECO", Head Office: Tokyo, President & CEO: Hiroyuki Tsurugi) has reached an agreement with Talisman Sakakemang B.V., a group company of Repsol, S.A., to acquire a 10% participating interest in the Sakakemang Block located onshore in Indonesia through MOECO Sakakemang B.V., MOECO's wholly-owned Dutch subsidiary subject to Indonesian government's approval.

The relevant Participating Interests in the Sakakemang Block after the transfer is approved by the Governement of Indonesia will be as follows:

MOECO Sakakemang B.V.	10%
Talisman Sakakemang B.V. (Operator)	90%

MOECO has been engaging in exploration, development and production of energy resources for many years in Thailand, Indonesia and other targeted parts of South East Asia. This successful deal reflects MOECO's aim to establish a more solid business foundation for further growth through continuous exploration and acquisition activities globally.
