MOECO provides financial support for education in southern Vietnam

Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. (MOECO) and its partners in Block B Gas-to-Power Project in Vietnam, Chevron Vietnam Ltd. (Chevron), Petro Vietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP) and PTT Exploration and Production Public Company (PTTEP), signed an agreement with the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) to support school upgrades and provide scholarships to more than 800 schoolchildren in 5 provinces in the Mekong Delta. The total value of the partners' commitment to the NFVC this year is USD 150,000 (approximately VND 3 billion)
The commitment builds on the existing Block B Gas-to-Power Project education program that has already provided scholarships to more than 3,000 children in the Mekong Delta since 2009. MOECO, Chevron, PVEP and PTTEP have also supported the work to upgrade 14 schools in the past three years.
MOECO and its partners are committed to supporting sustainable development and to build a better future for the local communities of the Mekong Delta in Vietnam.
National Fund For Vietnamese Children
The National Fund for Vietnamese Children was formed in 1992 pursuant to the Law on Protection and Care of Children. The principal goals and objectives of the NFVC are to make full use of all resources to realize the specific goals of the National Action Program for Vietnamese Children, in which special priorities are given to poor, disadvantaged and disabled children.
