MOECO acquired a 4% interest in Block G9/48 offshore Thailand

Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. ("MOECO", Head office: Hibiya Central Bldg. 2-9, Nishi Shimbashi 1-Chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan/ President: Mr. Yoshiyuki Kagawa) is pleased to announce that MOECO was granted the approval to participate in the Petroleum Concession Block G9/48 in the Gulf of Thailand, covering an area of approximately 252 square kilometers and acquired a 4% interest in the block on November 18, 2009. PTTEP (Thailand) Limited, a subsidiary of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited is the operator holding a 80% interest in the block, along with Chevron Pattani Ltd. (16%).
We are engaged in exploration activities for discovery of crude oil and natural gas.
