MOECO acquired a 23.75% interest in Block G4/48 and started production of crude oil

Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. ("MOECO", Head office: Hibiya Central Bldg. 2-9, Nishi Shimbashi 1-Chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan/ President: Mr. Yoshiyuki Kagawa) is pleased to announce that MOECO was granted approval to participate in the Petroleum Concession Block G4/48, covering an area of approximately 504 square kilometers on July 24, 2009.

Chevron Pattani Limited is the operator holding a 71.25% interest in the block, along with PTTEP (Thailand) Limited (5%: a subsidiary of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited).

Crude oil and Gas are being produced from the block.
