Acquisition of International Certification for Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001)

On September 28, 2006 MOECO successfully attained International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certifications ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) certification OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) for MOECO's HSE Management System (HSEMS) based on its "HSE Philosophy and Policy" and the "HSE Declaration" of its President, Mr. Yoshiyuki Kagawa.
The certifications were awarded by BSI Japan K.K. (BSI), an examination registrar acting under the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), after completion of their official assessment of MOECO's environmental and health and safety systems which were found to have been effectively implemented throughout MOECO's business units encompassing MOECO's head office in Tokyo, MOECO's Bangkok regional office, Siam Moeco Limited's (SML) head office in Bangkok (SML being a 100% subsidiary of MOECO) and SML's operations site in Block L-10/43 and L-11/43, onshore Thailand.
MOECO's achievement in being awarded these international certifications reflects a core feature of MOECO's corporate vision, mission and value, namely: "To become a world class oil exploration company, and implement highly ethical and transparent management practice in a spirit of legal and regulatory responsibility and with the utmost regard for health, safety and environment.". The certifications also confirm MOECO's status as a responsible and prudent operator for its operated interests onshore Thailand.
MOECO will use its utmost endeavors to continually supervise and audit the implementation of its HSE Management System to maintain its certifications through the continual improvement of the HSE Management System.
